'Delhi Belly' rolls as 'Settai'

The shooting for the Tamil remake of 'Delhi Belly', starring Arya and Santhanam in lead roles, got a kick start in Chennai on Monday (May 7). At present, the working title is 'Settai' and a final decision on the title will be taken soon.

Two sets, one resembling a five star hotel and another as a bachelor room, have been erected at Binny Mills at Meenambakkam, where the shooting is taking place at present. The schedule is expected to go on for a couple of weeks.

Being produced by UTV Motion Pictures, 'Settai' is helmed by Kannan of 'Jayamkondan' and 'Kanden Kadhalai' fame. Hansika Motwani and Anjali are playing the heroines, while veteran Nasser is doing a role with negative shades. This film also stars Premgi Amaren in a pivotal role.

According to sources, Arya, who had earlier worked with UTV for 'Vettai', took personal interest to remake 'Delhi Belly' in Tamil. His chemistry with Santhanam, which follows the comedy caper 'Boss Engira Baskaran', is expected to work wonders in this new project too.

Santhanam to join hands with Rajesh once again

The first film in which Santhanam and director Rajesh joined hands was Siva Manasula Sakthi. The comedy of this film was much spoken about. Apart from this film turned out to be super hit. Rajesh started giving offers to Santhanam in his next films. 

Santhanam had acted in the films Boss Engira Baskaran and Oru Kal Oru Kannadi directed by Rajesh. Santhanam had also earned good name by acting in these films. 

Now for the fourth time, both are joining hands once again in a film titled Azhagu Raja which has Karthi in the lead role. Santhanam had earlier rocked in comedy with Karthi in the film titled Siruthai. We can be confident that there will be rib tickling comedy if these three join hands. It is understood that the shooting of Azhagu Raja will not commence immediately and it will take some time.

Venkat Prabhu to rope in Vijay

Looks like Venkat Prabhu's project with Suriya might not take off now as the star has agreed to star in Singam 2 to be directed by Hari. Suriya's brother Karthi is also very busy with his film commitments. 

Following this, there is a buzz that Venkat Prabhu may rope in Vijay for his next. The director has a script ready but is waiting for the stars to allot their call sheet. We will know more details about his next project in a few days time.

Surya & Vijay Clash again with Maatraan & Thuppakki

Surya 's "MATRAAN" & Vijay's "THUPPAKKI" are officially announced to release worldwide on Independence day,August 15th. 

Maatraan is touted to become Suriya's biggest release till date, which is action thriller film directed and co-written by KV Anand and scripted by Subha. It stars Suriya who would portray two different roles along with Kajal Aggarwal. Harris Jayaraj has composed the tunes and the tracks in the music album.

The Telugu distribution rights were sold to Bellamkonda Suresh's Multi Dimensional Films for a record price. Distribution rights of tamil version has been bagged by Eros International. Eros International Media Ltd (Eros International), a global company in the Indian film entertainment industry, has acquired the Tamil theatrical rights of Surya starrer Maatran, produced by AGS.Two days ago Eros officially announced to release onAugust 15.

Thuppaki satellite rights was bagged by Sun TV for for a record price of 13.75 crores. Thuppaki features Vijay and Kajal Agarwal in lead roles while Jayaram and Sathyan plays supporting roles.

Known for his racy action-packed ventures, Thuppaki too has a similar theme. The movie speaks about a cop who weeds out criminals from the society. Impressed with the story line, Vijay had given bulk dates for the film. He hit the gym hard and reduced his weight to play a tough cop.

The distribution rights were bought by Gemini Film Circuit which produced and distributed Nanban. A dubbed same-titled Telugu version of the film is also expected to release simultaneously. During the making, sources reported that Murugadoss may remake the film in Hindi with Akshay Kumar. AR Murgadoss has approached a leading Mumbai based trailer specialist for the first official teaser promo for "Thuppakki".

Mahesh Babu shooting for Jos Alukkas ad

Super Star Mahesh Babu, who has wrapped up the first schedule shooting of his forthcoming film in the direction of Sukumar has now joined the ad shoot being directed by Trivikram Srinivas.

It is known that Mahesh signed up the deal of Jos Alukkas Jewellery and now he is participating in the ad shoot in Hyderabad teaming with writer turned director Trivikram Srinivas, who has already shot ads earlier with Jr.NTR for Navratna oil. The shoot will take place for a couple of days.

Next to this ad, Mahesh Babu will immediately join the sets of Dil Raju's production venture and a multistarrer movie Seethamma Vakita Sirimalle Chettu also featuring Venkatesh as the other lead and Samantha and Anjali as heroines. On the other hand, Trivikram will wrap up his undershoot film Julaayi with Allu Arjun in the lead.

Victory Venkatesh and Super Star Mahesh Babu's 'Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu' is progressing at a brisk pace. Mahesh has joined the shooting schedule after shooing for an ad film and currently, wedding scenes on Mahesh and Samantha along with prominent cast of the film are being shot in the schedule.

The schedule is taking place in Ramoji film city and the scenes will be followed by a son which will be completed in 10 days. A special set worth Rs.2 crores was erected in RFC and the shoot is taking place in it.

Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu' casts Anjali as other heroine and Prakash Raj in an important role. Collection King Mohan Babu who prides himself of having strong ethics, this time showed his ire on popular porn star and Indo-Canadian model Sunny Leone. The incident happened when his production house revealed Mohan Babu their intentions of roping in Sunny Leone for their upcoming film. He turned red with rage and shouted "How dare you take a porn star?" scaring everyone present there. He went on to thunder "We don't need to stoop so low to earn few bucks. Better look for an alternative," warning influential unit members. The production house planned to rope in Sunny for Vishnu-Hansika's 'Denikainaa Ready' film.  A close source says "She was ready to allot three to four days in second or third week of May and had agreed on the advance amount of Rs 10lakhs. Arrangements were being made for the shooting but we had dropped the plan at the last minute. We are now looking for an alternative since the film is slated for release in June," Tollywood has to wait for some more
